What i think of act one.

My first thoughts of this act are mixed. I thought that the story was more interesting than I thought it would be. A lot of the of the themes seen through this act are seen still today. For instance, one of the themes is love at first sight. One of the tragities of this story is the fact that romeo thought that Roslin was his only love because she was his first, then he saw Juliet and thought she was his only love. His closed mindedness about all of the possible women he might love in the future results in his ultimate downfall in the end. Another theme I saw in act one is pointless violence. When the servents from the opposing houses attacked each other, it caused a major uproar throughout the city. Even the prince had to step in to prevent them from killing each other. this kind of violece resonates today, especially in the undeveloped world. It will be interesting to see what happens in the rest of the story.
